Who We Are...

Bez Masih

Described by his peers as a “clear and persuasive advocate who inspires confidence in both lay and professional clients”. Bez is one of the founding partners of Masih Devitt & Associates.

Having initially qualified as a Barrister he was called to the Bar in 2003 by the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple enabling him rights of audience in all Civil and Criminal Higher Courts. He went on to obtain dual qualification in 2007 after being admitted to the Law Society’s Roll of Solicitors and went on to work for a number of well respected regional and national Solicitors firms.

Having represented a varied clientele within London and the Home Counties for over 19 years, he has developed and harboured his own meticulous and fearless approach within the courtroom. He has over the years nurtured a method of working which allows him to forensically examine the evidence at the preliminary stages of each case in order to achieve the best final outcome for his client.
Throughout his practice he has gained an in depth knowledge and expertise in representing clients who face a varied spectrum of allegations including both general crime such as murder, drugs offences, sexual offences and also more complex white collar crime such as fraud and money laundering.

Bez regularly appears before the Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire Courts and police stations representing the interests of clients requiring specialist advice. Bez gained SRA Duty Accreditation in 2010 allowing him to appear as a duty solicitor and undertakes both legal aid work and Private fee work for clients as part of the private client team.

Raj Devitt

Raj is one of the founding partners of Masih Devitt & Associates. He has a lengthy resume with over 14 years of experience within Criminal Law. Raj has represented clients facing a vast spectrum of criminal offences within many of the local police stations, Magistrates Courts and Crown Courts. This practice has allowed him to foster and harbour the ability to effectively work and communicate with Clients from all types of backgrounds. He is particularly commended for his ability to ensure that representation of any individual is bespoke and tailored to the clients specific needs. He is keen to emphasise the need for treating each individual on a needs basis and thereby doing away with the culture of mass representation popularised by many larger national and regional firms. Raj places quality of representation and customer care at the forefront of his practice.

Raj has perfected the ability to simplify sometimes overwhelmingly complex scenarios in order to provide clear, concise and tailored advise. He has often been described as “calm, calculated and approachable with a no nonsense approach”. Having previously headed up a Prison Law Department, Appeals Department and Police Actions Department he is a firm believer that effective communication is key whether it be within the courtroom or outside. He has demonstrated this skill not only in legal practice but during his time spent lecturing Law students and mentoring the new generation of trainee lawyers.
